About the symposium

Why Jakarta is convening this forum, and what it sets out to produce.

As Jakarta approaches its five-hundredth year, this symposium turns shared knowledge into policy — convened by Bappeda Provinsi DKI Jakarta with Sampoerna University, the University of Nottingham, and RPI Institute. Government, academia, research institutions, the private sector, and international partners meet over three days, in English, to shape recommendations for a resilient, inclusive Jakarta on its way to a Top 20 Global City by 2045.

Purpose

A cross-sector platform turning research into policy, advancing Jakarta's path toward a Top 20 Global City by 2045.

Objectives

Gather global expert insight across the Infrastructure, Environment, and Social & Economy pillars, and translate it into evidence-based policy inputs for DKI Jakarta.

Expected Outputs

A Policy Recommendation Book and a Symposium Completion Report, both submitted to the Jakarta Provincial Government.
